Chapter 19

Elena’s POV:

My heart thumped against my chest as I walked out of the airport, craning my neck in search for any sort of familiar face. I squinted my eyes as I looked, and suddenly my eyes landed on a familiar blonde head. A grin spread across my face as the girl’s blue eyes locked with mine, a smile forming on her own face as she ran over towards me, hugging me.

“It’s so good to see you again, Elena!” Perrie exclaims as she hugged me.

“You too, Perrie,” I grin as we pull away. “I didn’t know you’d be here.”

Perrie chuckles. “Neither did I, actually,” she says. “We found out that Little Mix was here along with One Direction, so Zayn and I met up.”

“How romantic is that?” I smirk. “Meeting your lover in Paris, the City of Love.”

A blush spread across Perrie’s fair skin. “Coincidence,” she says. “Now come on, we should get going. There’s a car waiting for us.”

I nod as we walk out of the airport, holding my bags as we go. A white car was waiting for Perrie and I, so we got in as the driver put my bags in the boot of the car and started driving to wherever.

“So Zayn told me about this whole plan thing they’ve come up with,” Perrie begins. “And they told me they want you to stay in a different hotel than as the boys, so it’s safe that Harry doesn’t see you. They’ve checked you in and everything.”

I nod, listening to what she was saying. “Hey, do you know what Harry even plans on doing?” I ask her curiously. “The boys never told me.”

A smile grows on Perrie’s lips as she presses them together. “I do know, but I can’t tell you,” she says.

I groan. “Why not?” I ask.

Perrie laughs. “I’m not telling you! It’ll ruin the surprise.”

I huff as Perrie chuckles. The car ride was short, and we finally got to the hotel. Perrie took me up to where my suite was, helping me with my bags. As we enter my suite, I ask Perrie, “So what happened with Tanya?” I ask.

“When Harry wanted to, um, do what he’s planning to do,” Perrie frowned, trying to figure out how to word it, “she told him that she was leaving because she didn’t want to stand between you two. She’s such a sweet person.”

I smile and nod. “I know,” I say. “She became a good friend.”

Perrie smiles. “I’m gonna let you get settled in,” she says. “Tomorrow is the big day.”

I roll my eyes. “It’d be more fun if you tell me what’s happening.”

Perrie smirks. “No can do, babe.” She chuckles and gives me a hug. “See you tomorrow.”

***************

The loud knocking on my hotel suite door woke me up, and I angrily got up. I hate it when someone wakes me up from my slumber. Still in my night shorts and tank top, I straightened my hair with my hand as I opened the door. My eyes widened when I saw four-fifths of One Direction.

“What the hell are you guys doing here?” I ask sleepily, rubbing my eyes.

“Good morning to you too,” Louis smirks as the boys all walk into my room.

I roll my eyes as I shut the door behind them. “It’s too early for visitors,” I grumble, sitting on my bed next to Zayn.

The boys chuckle. “We just wanted to visit you before tonight,” Liam says.

I let out a groan, looking up at the ceiling. “What is happening tonight?”

Zayn grinned wickedly. “You’ll just have to wait and find out.”

I give him a sweet smile. “Have I told you guys how much you all suck?”

Niall chuckles. “Come on now, Elena, don’t be like that.”

I roll my eyes, chuckling as I run a hand through my bed headed hair. “Isn’t Harry wondering where in the world you guys are?”

Louis shakes his head. “He was still sleeping when we left. So we’ve got nothing to worry about.”

I nod. “So what time is the concert?” I ask.

“Seven,” Liam replies. “But get there by six forty-five. There are gonna be a lot of people.”

            I roll my eyes. “Obviously.”

Several hours later, I was at the stadium here in Paris with Perrie as we waited for the boys’ concert to start. I was dressed in white capri pants, a baby pink frilly tank top, and matching sandals. My long hair fell glossily over my back, and I kept the make up to a minimum.

Fans were swarming the entire stadium, wearing One Direction T-shirts, holding up signs, their faces painted, and wearing bandanas. Perrie and I’s seats were in the fourth row towards the middle where the boys could clearly see us and we would be able to clearly see them. The concert was about to start soon, and I couldn’t help but fiddle with my fingers as I wondered what was about to happen.

Soon enough, the lights started dimming and the fans started screaming. Perrie grinned at me as the countdown started playing on the big screen, and my stomach started twisting. Just then, the five boys popped up on stage, and the screaming grew even louder.

The boys started singing their songs, dancing around as they greeted fans in between. Louis gave me a knowing smile when he saw me, and I couldn’t help but smile. So far, all of the boys had seen Perrie and I except for Harry, which was surprising.

Towards the middle of the concert, the boys stopped for a bit as Harry brough the microphone up to his mouth. “Hello, Paris!” he says into the microphone, his deep voice rumbling through the speakers as he gets loud screaming in response. “How are you all doing tonight?”

He chuckles when fans scream. “Now, this next song, is dedicated to someone very special to me,” he says. “I was listening to this song and I realized how much it relates to the situation the two of us are in.” I furrow my eyebrows as I glance at Perrie, and then look back to the stage. And just when I do, green eyes lock with mine.

I feel my heart drumming against my rib cage as Harry’s eyes widen at the sight of me, his pink lips parting in shock. I give him a small, weak smile as he returns it. “She knows who she is, and I hope she understands what I’m trying to say,” Harry continues.

Just then, the band starts playing the music for They Don’t Know About Us and Liam starts singing. “People say we shouldn’t be together. We’re too young to know about forever. But I say they don’t know what they’re talk-talk-talkin’ about.”

And then the rest of the boys echo, “Talk-talk-talkin’ about.”

I look over to Harry who is already looking at me, his white V-neck clinging to his shirt. “’Cause this love is only getting stronger. So I don’t wanna wait any longer. I just wanna tell the world that you’re mine, girl. Oh!”

“They don’t know about the things we do. They don’t know about the I love you’s. But I bet you if they only knew, they would just be jealous of us. They don’t know about the up all nights, they don’t know I’ve waited all my life. Just to find a love that feels this right. Baby, they don’t know about, they don’t know about us,” they all sang beautifully, Zayn sending a cheeky wink to Perrie who blushed.

The crowd cheered as Niall started singing. “One touch and I was a believer. Every kiss, it gets a little sweeter.”

Harry gives me a look as he sings, “It’s getting better, keeps getting better all the time girl.”

“They don’t know about the things we do. They don’t know about the I love you’s. But I bet you if they only knew, they would just be jealous of us. They don’t know about the up all nights, they don’t know I’ve waited all my life. Just to find a love that feels this right. Baby, they don’t know about, they don’t know about us.”

Louis put his right hand on his stomach as he held the microphone in his left as he sang. “They don’t know how special you are. They don’t know what you’ve done to my heart. They can say anything they want ‘cause they don’t know us.”

Niall smiles as he sings, “They don’t know what we do best. It’s between me and you, our little secret.”

“But I wanna tell ‘em. I wanna tell the world that you’re mind, girl!” Zayn belts out in his strong voice.

“They don’t know about the things we do. They don’t know about the I love you’s. But I bet you if they only knew, they would just be jealous of us. They don’t know about the up all nights, they don’t know I’ve waited all my life. Just to find a love that feels this right. Baby, they don’t know about, they don’t know about us. They don’t know about the things we do. They don’t know about the I love you’s. But I bet you if they only knew, they would just be jealous of us. They don’t know about the up all nights, they don’t know I’ve waited all my life. Just to find a love that feels this right. Baby, they don’t know about, they don’t know about us.”

As the boys quiet down, Zayn sings the last lines. “They don’t know about us. They don’t know about us.”
