Chapter 11

Carly’s POV:

I reached the boys flat and got out of my car, walking up to the front door. Knocking on it, it opened to reveal Harry grinning at me. “Hey!” he says. “You look great.”

I smile, not being able to hide the blush that was forming on my cheeks. I was wearing a long, grey-blue off-the-shoulder top that fell loosely over my body, dark blue skinny jeans, black flats, a long necklace, earrings, and my Gucci sunglasses. My long, dark hair fell over my shoulders as I smile at Harry. “Thank you, Styles.”

            He chuckles. “Come on in.”

Harry opens the door wider, letting me into the flat. We were all getting ready to go and spend the day at the amusement park. Ashley and Hayden couldn’t make it due to their own reasons, so it was just the lads, the rest of the girls, and I. Paul had dropped off the big van for us, so we will be taking that. It was a beautiuful day out in London today. There were a few clouds here and there, but the sun was actually out, making it a bit warmer.

Harry was dressed in a casual dark blue tee with a red and black button down shirt on top of it, but he left the buttons open and rolled the sleeves up to his elbows. He had on dark jeans that hung low at his hips, and his favorite white Converse. Why must he be so attractive?

Suddenly, everyone else appeared. Everyone was dressed relatively to the weather, and we were all ready to go. “We all set?” Liam asks, putting his phone in the back of his jeans pocket.

We all nod. “Let’s go!” Eleanor grins excitedly.

Making our way out of the building, Harry yells out, “I’m driving!”

I quickly follow suit. “I call shot gun!”

Harry grins over at me while everyone else groans. The van was a ten seater, so it was perfect for us. Harry took the driver’s seat while I took the passenger’s. Louis, Eleanor, Perrie, and Zayn took the middle row, while Danielle, Liam, Soha, and Niall took the last row. Harry started up the van, and then drove to the amusement park. The park was a good forty five minute to an hour long drive, so we would be in the van for a while.

As we drove, Louis pipes up, “Can we sing Call Me Maybe?!”

Harry and I glance at each other, and he smirks. I chuckle. “Let’s do it,” I say. “But wait,” I add, taking out my phone. I go on the camera to create a new video and set it up on the dash board, making sure it doesn’t fall and so it can face us. Surprisingly, you could see all of us; even Harry and I.

“Hold on,” Harry says, fumbling for something. He hands me a CD, and I see it’s actually Carly Rae Jespen’s Kiss album. I give him a look and he shrugs. “It’s Paul’s.”

“Right,” I roll my eyes, putting the CD in. The song immediately started playing and I pressed record for the video, and we all just grinned.

“Carly start us off!” Liam shouts from the back.

I chuckle, looking into the camera as I sang. “I threw a wish in the well, don’t ask me I’ll never tell. I looked at you as it fell, and now you’re in my way.”

Harry sent me a cheesy wink before he sang in his raspy voice, looking at the road instead of the camera. “I’d trade my soul for a wish, pennies and dimes for a kiss. I wasn’t looking for this, but now you’re in my way.”

Louis and Eleanor then suddenly start singing the next verse, grinning and laughing. “Your stare was holdin’, ripped jeans, skin was showin’. Hot night, wind was blowin’. Where you think you’re going, baby?”

We all then burst out singing the chorus, looking at the camera with the exception of Harry. “Hey, I just met you. And this is crazy! But here’s my number, so call me maybe? It’s hard to look right, at you baby. But here’s my number, so call me maybe! Hey, I just met you. And this is crazy! But here’s my number, so call me maybe? And all the other boys try to chase me. But here’s my number, so call me maybe!”

Next to sing were Perrie and Zayn, who sang beautifully together in their R&B voices. “You took your time with the call, I took no time with the fall. You gave me nothing at all. But still, you’re in my way.”

“I beg and borrow and steal. Have foresight and it’s real. I didn’t know I would feel it but it’s in my way,” Liam and Danielle sang, giggling as they did so.

Then, Niall and Soha sang from behind me. “Your stare was holdin’. Ripped jeans, skin was showin’. Hot night, wind was blowin’. Where you think you’re going, baby?”

Again, we all sang during the chorus.

Harry and I then grinned at each other before I started singing. “Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad. I missed you so bad. I missed you so, so bad.”

Harry laughed as he sang the next part. “Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad. And you should know that; I missed you so so bad.”

Eleanor and Soha then peered from in between Harry and I’s seats, singing. “It’s hard o look right at you baby. But here’s my number, so call me maybe?”

We all laughed at them before singing. “Hey, I just met you and this is crazy. But here’s my number, so call me maybe? And all the other boys try to chase me. But here’s my number, so call me maybe?”

“Carly, Harry, take it away!” Zayn yells.

“Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad. I missed you so bad. I missed you so so bad,” I sang, grinning as I looked at Harry.

“Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad. And you should know that. So call me, maybe?” Harry sang, before finishing it off by sending me a wink.

We all laughed and clapped, whooping. I stopped the video and went on Twitter. As we all sang, we were making all of these weird gestures and dancing in our seats, along with making faces. It was so weird but funny at the same time. I posted it on Twitter, a smile on my face.

@CarlyMcKinley: What happens when you’re in the car w/ the 1D crew! #CallMeMaybe @EleanorJCalder @Soha_I @Harry_Styles @Louis_Tomlinson @NiallOfficial @DaniellePeazer @Real_Liam_Payne @LittleMixOffic @zaynmalik twitvid.com/ASK0239

Once the video was posted, as usual, Twitter blew up.

-OH MY GOD. I’m laughing so hard! You guys are so funny!

-I’m finally hearing Danielle and Eleanor talk. Omg they can sing!

-Am I the only one who noticed how Carly & Harry kept on looking at each other???!!!

-Please let there be #HARLY

-Can I just be friends with you guys? you’re all having a blast!

I chuckle quietly at the tweets, before putting my phone away. “How far away are we?” Eleanor asks.

“About half an hour,” Harry replies, making a left turn.

Everyone groans and I chuckle. “Suck it up.”

“Easy for you to say,” Louis says. “You’re not squished in the back.”

I roll my eyes, resting my sunglasses at the top of my head as I look out the window. The drive was full of laughter and chatter, never once having any type of silence. We soon reached the amusement park, and all piled out of the van and went towards the ticket booth. The boys paid for themselves and their girlfriends, and Harry paid for me, which he didn’t really have to. With our wristbands on, we entered the amusement park, which was full of children screaming with joy and the mechanical laughter of the rides. There were roller coasters, bumper cars, a Ferris Wheel, merry-go-rounds, and all types of other rides and games.

“What should we go on first?” Danielle asks, her hand lacing with Liam’s.

            “Bumper cars!” Louis cheers.

We all agreed on Louis’s choice, and made our way over to the ride. The pairs were obviously self-explanatory; Louis and Eleanor, Niall and Soha, Zayn and Perrie, Liam and Danielle, and Harry and I. We all got into the cars, with Harry getting in the drivers seat of a black car with orange firey designs. I laugh at his car choice and get into the car next to him. Once all of us were in the cars, a loud buzzer went off, and we were all sent driving. Harry immediately set off as I held tightly on, and he drove us over to where Eleanor and Louis’s red and blue car was, roughly bumping into them.

“Oi!” Louis shouts when our car comes in contact with theirs. “How dare you!”

Harry and I just laughed, causing Louis to bump us and send us swiveling over and bumping another car, which turned out to be Zayn and Perrie’s. This went over for a while, bumping into every car we saw, until our time was up. Harry got out of the car, and offered me a hand. I took his large hand in mine, and he effortlessly pulled me out, causing me to stumble into his chest.

            “Sorry,” I smile sheepishly.

            “It’s okay,” Harry smirks.

We all continue walking around the park, deciding what to go on next. “We should go on the merry-go-rounds!” Eleanor suggests.

The boys all let out groans of protest. The girls and I exchange looks, before they grabbed their boyfriends’ arms and I grabbed Harry’s, dragging them towards the ride. We got on it, and I took a seat on a cute silver horse that had purple designs on them. Harry took a seat on a light brown horse that had yellow designs on them, groaning slightly.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he mutters, holding on to the pole.

I chuckle. “We’ll go on whatever ride you lads wanna go on next,” I tell him. “Just for now, shut up.”

            Harry dramatically gasps. “Rude!”

Five minutes later, we walk off of the merry-go-round, the boys all groaning still. “That’s five minutes of my life I’ll never get back,” Zayn mutters, causing Perrie to shove him.

“Come on, let’s go on the Tilt-A-Whirl!” Liam exclaims.

The ride had seats enough for only four, so in the first small cart thingy was Harry, Perrie, Zayn, and I, in the other was Niall, Soha, Danielle, and Liam, and the last one Louis and Eleanor took up for themselves. Once everyone was seated properly with the belts on, the ride set off, immediately spinning around and tilting fastly. We all let out shouts of cheering and laughed, as I held on to Harry’s upper left arm, not really caring if we were dating or not.

Today was just about having fun with my friends on my day off. I didn’t want to worry about work or about my relationship problem with Harry. All I wanted to do was relax and have fun.

My brown hair and Perrie’s purple hair was whipping around the place as I tried my best to keep it down, but gave up after a while. When the ride ended, Harry helped me up, and I held on to him. “That ride may have gotten me a teensy bit dizzy,” I chuckle, holding on to his upper left arm.

Harry laughs, freeing his left arm of my grip and putting it around my shoulders. “Don’t worry, love. I’ve got you.”

Needlessly to say, a blush was evident on my cheeks.

“We should go on the Reverse Bungee,” Niall grins widely.

My eyes widen as I stop walking. “Oh, no. No no no. You guys can go ahead, but I am not going on that thing.”

            “Why not?” Soha asks.

“Are you kidding?” I ask, my jaw dropping. “That thing is a death trap!”

“You all can go on,” Harry says. “Carly and I’ll go on some other ride.”

I look up at him. “You can go if you want.”

He shakes his head. “Heights like that aren’t exactly my thing.” I chuckle, and the rest of them leave for the ride. How can they wanna go on that? It’s like a ball you sit in and it sends you flying up and then down and back again. It’s terrifying! “I’m hungry,” Harry says. “Wanna get a snack or something?”

I nod. “Yeah,” I say. “We can get those little popcorn bags? I saw a little stand for it before.”

Harry nods, and we make our way over to the popcorn. When we get there, we are greeted by an old man working behind the stall. “Two, please,” Harry smiles at him.

“There you go, son,” the man smiles, and Harry gives one to me.

Once he pays for them, the two of us walk aimlessly around the park, eating our popcorn and just talking. Five minutes later, Harry says, “Hey, I’ll be right back. I gotta hit the loo.”

I chuckle, nodding. “Okay, I’ll just wait right here.”

Harry nods, before setting off in the direction which supposedly is the bathroom. As I stand and eat my popcorn, I see three guys walk over to me, around my age. They all were good looking, I’d say, but they seemed to have that bad boy vibe to them.

“Hey there, babe,” the one in the middle, which I guess is the leader, smirks. “What’re you doing here all by yourself?”

I make a disgusted face. “I’m not here by myself. My friends are on a ride and one of them is in the bathroom. I’m just waiting for them.”

“Mind if we wait with you?” the guy with jet black hair and piercing blue eyes ask mischeviously.

“Yes, actually. I do mind,” I snap. “Now be good little boys and walk away.”

The third guy smirks. “Ooh, a fiesty one,” he says. “I like it.”

I give them an incredulous look. Were they serious right now? The leader guy steps up until he towers in front of me, smirking down at me as one of his hands cup my cheek. Ew, this feels so wrong. “Come on, love, don’t be that way.”

I use my free hand and slap his hand away from my face. “Don’t touch me,” I hiss, backing away from him.

“Oh, come on,” he rolls his eyes. “You know you like it.”

“Actually, I really don’t,” I glare at him.

Suddenly, I hear a voice call, “Oi, what’s going on here?”

I turn around and to my great relief, Harry was walking over, a frown on his face. “Walk away, man,” the second boy sneers. “This doesn’t concern you.”

“It actually does,” Harry snaps, “when you’re practically harrassing my friend.”

“Oh yeah?” the leader boy glares at Harry, and I bite the inside of my cheek as I stand somewhat behind Harry. “What’re you gonna do about it? You and what army?”

Before Harry could respond, a new voice calls out, “I think you should step away from our friend, unless you wanna deal with all of us.”

The three guys turn around and Harry and I look over their shoulders to see that it was Louis who was the one who spoke, and all of the guys and girls were with them. The boys were all glaring at the three boys, and I let out a small, quiet sigh of relief. The leader boy scoffs and says, “Come on, boys. There are other girls around here.”

I stare at them in disgust as they walk away, running a hand through my hair. “Well that was dreadful,” I mutter.

Harry puts his left arm around me as his hand rubs my upper arm. “You okay?” he whispers in my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

I send him a smile. “Yeah, I’m fine.”

*****************

It was seven o’ clock in the evening, and we were all still at the amusement park. We wanted to go on one last ride, which everyone wanted to be the River Rafting ride. It was like a huge circle boat that had ten seats, and it goes through this huge river, through water falls, and you will definitely get wet because of all of the water splashing around.

We all sat in the big boat, with me sitting next to Harry and Soha on my other side. There were spaces between each sets of two seats. Once our belts were on, the ride started and we all went turning and twisting through the river.

The ride was thrilling as the warm water crashed around us. “Oh God,” I laugh as my wet hair splashes across my face.

“We’re going through a water fall!” Louis shouts.

I hold on to my seat as the raft violently turns, and we go through a cold water fall as all of us are drenched from head to toe. We all let out screams as we go through the water fall. As the boat twists, my body turns and I’m forced to lean into Harry. “You okay?” he laughs over the swishing of the water.

            I chuckle. “I’m fine,” I say.

The ride goes on for fifteen minutes, and by the time we’re done, we all are completley wet. Once we were out and in the middle of the dark park, all wet teenagers, Perrie laughs, “Someone should take a picture of us!”

I grab my phone from my bag. Before going on the raft, they told us to put our bags, electronics, and shoes in a basket so they don’t get wet. Once I have my phone, I hand it to a woman passing by. “Excuse me, can you take a picture of my friends and I?”

She takes my phone and smiles. “Sure, sweetheart,” she says.

The ten of us then pose together, not caring if we all were wet. It went from Zayn, Perrie, Soha, Niall, me, Harry, Danielle, Liam, Eleanor, and Louis. We all grinned at the camera as the woman took the picture. Once she did, I took the phone from her. “Thank you,” I say, and she smiles and walks away.

We were all then decided that we should walk back to the van. The walk took a while, and by the time we got there, we were all mostly dry. We returned into our seats from before, getting some of the seats wet. Harry drove out of the amusement park parking lot, and then we hit the road. Taking out my phone, I checked the pictures we had taken.

One picture was of all of us smiling in front of the merry-go-round. Then one was of me and the girls sucking in her cheeks, causing our cheeks to hollow and our lips form a kissy face, and we are standing in front of the Ferris Wheel. Another one was of just Harry and I, and I’m climbed onto his back with my arms wrapped around his neck and his hands supporting my thighs as we’re grinning and standing in front of the tea cup ride. Smiling, I make those pictures into a collage and post them on Twitter.

@CarlyMcKinley: Best day off, I’d say :Dx @Harry_Styles @zaynmalik @LittleMixOffic @Real_Liam_Payne @EleanorJCalder @DaniellePeazer @Louis_Tomlinson @NiallOfficial @Soha_I pic.twitter.com/SPH8249

A while later, we reached the boys’ flat. Everyone piled out, except for Harry and I. He pulled out of the driveway and drove to my hotel. “You know you could have just dropped me off first, right?” I ask him, tucking a strand of wet hair behind my ear.

“Oops,” Harry smirks, obviously knowing that he could’ve dropped me off first.

I just roll my eyes, chuckling. We got to my hotel quickly, and I unbuckled my seat belt. “Thanks for the ride, Haz,” I say, grabbing my bag.

He smiles at me, dimples in view as he whips his curly hair out of his eyes. “No problem,” he says.  “Wait, when are you going back to Los Angeles?”

I think for a moment. “Day after tomorrow,” I say. “Why?”

A smirk forms on Harry’s face. “I have something planned for us.”

I stare at him, eyebrows raised. This can’t be good.
